Life Group Questions

  1. How did this sermon help you?
  2. How do you define peace?  Discuss the definition pastor Joe gave: Peace is not the absence of external conflict but an internal security with an eternal perspective.
  3. Has a lack of peace in your life made you feel as though you or God has failed?

  5. In Ephesians 6:15 we are told to be ready with the shoes of the gospel of peace.  What is the gospel of peace and how does that help you withstand trials and terrorist attacks of the enemy?
  6.  Talk about a time when you have allowed trials and battles of life “destroy” your faith or hope or define you?  (For example, if you lost a job, or a loved one did you become angry with God and walk away for a while?  Or if you went through a divorce or an abandonment did you allow that to become your identity?)
  7. Read James 1:2-4.  Talk about a time when you went through a trial in life and you came through the trial closer to God?  In what ways is God seeking to draw you closer to Him in the midst of your trials today?
  8. Surrender is an essential key to possessing both the peace with God and the peace of God.   What is God asking you to surrender over to Him that you may have peace with God and the peace of God?
