What did you learn Sunday?

Let’s read Read Matthew 6:12-15 (End of the Lords Prayer) and talk about forgiveness based on Jesus’ teaching

(Answer: The Lord will forgive us in the same measure that we forgive others)

What are the main points found in the parable in Matthew 18:21-35

(Answer: 1.God forgave us millions of dollars of our sin debt at the cross, 2. now he asks us to forgive others way smaller sin, 3. Forgiven people have received forgiveness FREELY now God asks us to freely give forgiveness forward, and 4. What would happen if the Lord would withdraw His forgiveness from us? We would end up in hell)

Let’s talk about what forgiveness is NOT.

(Answer: 1.It is not a feeling, 2.has nothing to do with forgetting, 3.not related to having to have the exact same relationship as before, 4.has nothing to do with NOT calling the law enforcement, 5. and forgiveness is NOT in the hands of the offender, but in our hands)

Let’s talk about what is forgiveness?

(Answer: 1.It is a choice, 2.a process (because sometimes it takes a while for us not to have any bitterness towards the offender), 3.and spiritual warfare (Enemy will remind us again and again to revive the anger & bitterness)

How do we know if we still need to forgive someone?

(Answer: We still have bitterness, revengeful thoughts, or anger in our hearts)
