1. How did the Holy Spirit speak to you through the entire worship service on Sunday? Are you allowing the time of worship (music) for God to speak?
2. How do you define your identity and establish your self-worth?
3. Read Philippians 3:1-3. The Apostle Paul warns the believers about falling into a lie and trap of self-righteousness by becoming circumcised. Today circumcision is not a relevant issue but how is the principle of Paul’s warning relevant to our lives? Do you find your identity and self-worth in your own righteousness and performance or in Christ?
4. Read Philippians 3:4-11. Paul considered everything a loss compared to the surpassing worth of Christ. Do we consider knowing Christ as a surpassing worth of all of what the world offers? If you say yes, give some examples. If no, then share about why the world seems to offer greater worth.
5. What is the intended affect of not having a righteousness on our own but only in Christ?
6. Read Philippians 3:12-14. Why is letting go of the past so crucial to grabbing a hold of what Christ has grabbed a hold of us with? How do we practically “let go” of our past and “Strain” towards the goal? Forget? Forgive?
7. Read Philippians 3:15-21. How are people enemies of the cross today? How would Christians practically reject the cross today, even though they don’t with their words?
