Person 2: Acts 20:35

Person 5: 2 Corinthians 9:6
Pray for God to guide your conversation together, & for the Holy Spirit to give wisdom & insight.
LeaderBefore starting these questions, remember that you don’t have to “complete the list.” There are more questions listed than you have time to answer. Every major question has several smaller questions on the same idea/topic that you can use to keep things moving. They don’t have to all be individually answered. You know your group best, choose the ones that work best for your unique needs.
Q1: It’s better to have less with peace, than more with stress
When we’re building out our lives, we forget that “more” of most things often comes with more stress.
  • How have you seen stress increase with added “things.”
  • Have you seen stress increase because someone wanted to take on more than they could afford?
  • Why is “feeling richer than we are” so problematic?
Q2: There is more blessing when we give
Pastor Julian reminded us of Jesus’ words from Acts 20:35. Giving is more of a blessing, it’s more rewarding than receiving.
  • How quickly does the “high” wear off when you get something new?
  • How have you seen blessings multiply, & last longer, through people being generous?
  • What stories of generosity stand out to you? Have you been encouraged by watching someone else live generously for Jesus?
Q3: Living in imitation of God
The heart of God pours out generously to His children. If His heart for us is generous, we should imitate His generosity, & plan to be generous with others.
  • What practical steps can you take this week to show generosity to others?
  • What benefit is there in planning to be generous?
  • How can planned generosity shape your life & increase your Kingdom impact?
Q4: We respond with Giving as Worship
Pastor Julian reminded us that our leftovers are not our best. We honor God by trusting Him first. We have to prioritize God above all.
  • How have you seen God bless through trusting Him first?
  • Do you know any stories about people trusting God First who saw blessing pour out from that act of trust?
Q5: We don’t want to miss out!
We don’t live under the Law anymore, but we are promised a blessing when we trust God. Pastor Julian said not tithing isn’t a sin, but you will miss out on the blessings God has planned for you and your life.
  • How do others benefit from our generosity as a church family?
  • How does our trusting generosity as a church speak the love of God over our community?
