Life Group Questions

1.     How did this sermon speak to you?
2.     Acts 20:35 tells us it is more blessed to give than receive.  Does God’s call to give sacrificially seem like a blessing or a burden?  Do you believe God is looking to take from you or give to you?
3.     Read 1 Timothy 6:17-19, James 1:16-17 & Deuteronomy 8:17-18.  Do you see your treasures as something you are responsible for or as a gift from God?
4.     Developing a heart of gratitude comes from putting God first in all areas of our life, including our treasures.  How are you putting God first in your money; in your time; in your career; in your talents?
5.     Read 1 Timothy 6:17, Matthew 6:25-34; Malachi 3:10-12.  In this passage we read that God wants us to put our trust in Him and not in our treasures.  What are you placing your hope/confidence/trust in?  Is it God or something else?
6.     Bottom line… Do you believe God is faithful and will provide for you all that you need and the best of what you need?  Or is that a promise of God that He might fail you on?  Are you willing to put Him to a test (as it says in Malachi) and see?
7.     Read Matthew 6:19:24.  Why does God want us to place Him first according to this passage?  How does sacrificial giving help develop a vision for what really matters?
8.     In what way are you willing to grow in sacrificial giving to God?  Make a plan and stick to it for 3 months, 6 months, or go big and go for a year and see what God does in that year!
